Our Story

Rooted in Service, Grown in NC

After transitioning from military service, our family found a new place to call home and pursue our dream of owning a small hobby farm. Not long after welcoming our first farm animals, we began exploring the craft of small-batch soapmaking.

Rooted in Eastern North Carolina, Rios Family Farm uses fresh milk from our beloved goats and high-quality ingredients to create handcrafted artisan soaps. Goat milk is naturally rich in vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids that deeply nourish your skin. Every ingredient is chosen with care for your skin, your health, and the earth we share.

Our farm is home to more than 40 animals—including chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, rabbits, goats, pigs, mini donkeys, and a cow—and each plays an important role in daily farm life:

  • Our goats provide fresh milk for our soaps.
  • Our donkeys and cow contribute compost for the farm.
  • Our chickens and ducks provide farm-fresh eggs.
  • Our pigs provide meat for our family.

Beyond their practical contributions, our animals offer meaningful therapeutic benefits. Time spent with them can support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and aid physical and mental recovery. Our farm’s steady routines, sensory-rich setting, and animal companionship create a calming environment that supports healing.

Private farm tours are available upon request.

What Our Neighbors Say

WE'RE HERE TO HELP

Common Questions

Got a question about our handmade process, shipping options, or custom gift sets? Browse our most common inquiries below. If you don't see your answer, our family is just a message away.

What ingredients do you use in your soaps?

We use fresh goat milk from our farm, combined with natural oils, nourishing butters, and high-quality fragrance or essential oils. Every batch is crafted to be gentle on the skin.

Do you ship outside of North Carolina?

Yes, we do! We happily ship our small-batch soaps across the US. If you live nearby in Eastern NC, you can also choose local pickup when you place your order.

Can I place a custom order?

Absolutely. We love creating custom batches, thoughtful gift buckets, and party favors for special events. Send us a message with your ideas and timeline.

How long does a bar of handmade soap last?

Because handmade soap is rich in natural glycerin, it needs to dry out between uses. We recommend keeping it on a draining soap dish, which will help your bar last for weeks.
